About Patrick

Patrick McVeyPatrick has a long history of experience in sport and exercise. From the age of 16 he was coaching athletics. He was and still is a competitive runner . He has studied modules in Exercise Physiology at Edinburgh University and is currently studying towards achieving accreditation with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association.

Patrick’s biggest achievement in sport was being selected from 6000 trialists to take part in the BBC One programme Born To Win. The aim of this programme was to source the best all round athletes in the U.K. and have them compete against each other in a variety of events to test aerobic fitness, speed, agility and strength. Patrick was in the final seven before a broken wrist in the latter stages of the competition ended his challenge. While involved in the programme, he worked closely with physiologists at the British Olympic Medical Centre in London where he gained invaluable knowledge about fitness, exercise and diet. He was also advised and mentored by Olympic athletes Colin Jackson, Sally Gunnel and Michael Johnson who helped mould his passion for athletics, fitness and exercise.

Patrick will produce coaching and fitness routines that are appropriate to each individuals current abilities, goals and experience from absolute beginners through to competitive athletes.

Patrick also has an Honours degree in Construction Management.
